PLANTAR FASCIITIS

Cause, symptoms and treatment

" Foot pain | Heel Pain | Calf Pain "

PLANTAR FASCIITIS EXPLAINED:

Plantar fasciitis or "joggers heel" is a disorder where the plantar fascia is irritated by repeated small injuries to it often via jogging or walking.

Plantar fasciitis is degenerative tendinosis of the plantar fascia. It is the most common cause of heel pain. It affects approximately 1 in 10 people in the world

Your plantar fascia is a thick fibrous band of connective tissue originating on the bottom surface of the calcaneus (heel bone) and extending along the sole of the foot towards the toes. Your plantar fascia acts as a passive limitation to the over flattening of your arch. When your plantar fascia develops micro tears or becomes inflammed it is known as plantar fasciitis.

IF LEFT UNTREATED:

As plantar fasciitis deteriorates, the pain will be present more often.

  1. No Heel Pain - Normal!

  2. Heel pain after exercise.

  3. Heel pain before and after exercise.

  4. Heel pain beforeduring and after exercise.
